Janelle Cass and her husband Chris moved to Edmonds in 2007 to raise their children. After completing her service in the Air Force, they set their sights on returning home to the Pacific Northwest—and Edmonds was their dream place to call home! Since then, they’ve built their lives here, raising their family and investing deeply in this community they love.
Serving on the Port Commission since 2023, Janelle has been a passionate advocate for making sure your voice guides decisions about the waterfront, marina, and Harbor Square. She brings a strong record of public engagement, collaborative problem-solving, and fiscal responsibility.
Janelle is a mother, wife, veteran, and small business owner with a degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy. She has always believed in giving back—whether through military service, volunteering, or simply helping her neighbors. She is honored to represent the residents of the Port District and is committed to continuing that service in her next term.
As a lifelong sailor and 12-year marina tenant, Janelle values what makes the waterfront special to Edmonds, Woodway, and surrounding region. She’s dedicated to protecting public access to the water, preserving our environment, promoting economic vitality, and staying on course with critical infrastructure projects.
Janelle believes in a simple philosophy: The voice and concerns of Port District residents comes first, always. No excuses, No exceptions. By doing this, the Port operates in a manner that is economically, environmentally and fiscally responsible.
